Gabriel Bonmati

Gabriel Bonmati's work bridges European artistic traditions and the imaginative spirit of Quebec. He developed a style that blended cubism, geometric abstraction, and fauvist colour. After discovering screen printing in the 1960s, his art evolved toward a freer, more imaginative expression rooted in dream, sensuality, and memory. Bonmati found inspiration in Quebec’s landscapes and cultural energy, leading to his celebrated series of elegant, timeless portraits of women adorned with symbolic jewellery and rich textures. Exhibited internationally alongside artists such as Dali and Chagall, Bonmati’s luminous, evocative work continues to captivate audiences and affirm his enduring artistic legacy.
